IPL 3 Print E-mail

It has begun again , the one month long party time called IPL. Yes I am aware of so many people who dont like it but I do so there. As most of you who know me also know I am a big fan of Delhi Daredevils and their first match was very disappointing.

They won but it was so unconvincing a win against a team like Punjab I wonder what they will do against Mumbai or Chennai. A team that has batsman like Sehwag, Gambhir, De Villiers, Dilshan, Warner , Collingwood and Karthik ...(yes they are all in my team) and still struggle to win can only be called disappointing and lets hope they do better next time. Ill keep everyone updated with news and stuff about whats happening with DD.

I am a big fan of space, horror and Dennis Quaid and this movie had it all. I started watching this movie without much expectations as "Sunshine" was much lesser than what I had wished it to be (but it was better than SlumDog anyday) and the game Deadspace disappointed me badly with its 3rd person view and heavy movement system so for a long time I was starved with the desire to get some space horror combo in some form of media.

Autumn in Chennai Print E-mail

When we first moved to Chennai around ten years ago, or rather when we moved back after a brief hiatus at Delhi, we rented a large white bungalow in Kotturpuram. The rooms were spacious and there were two open verandahs and a large window on the landing of the first floor which overlooked the dining table on the ground floor. The watchman, Gunasekaran uncle, used to open his steel tiffin box at 2 pm every afternoon and eat rice with the most delicious, red sambar I had ever tasted. Cultured brahmins just don't make food as good as that. I would drool when my maid Vimala told me nostalgic tales of life in her village; of the fish kozhumbu and the raw sugarcane and the chicken fry. More than anything, I wished that I could eat all that. It made me feel terribly sad when she told me that her father was a commissioned labourer who used to carry sacks of cement on his back to and from the construction site for days on end until at the age of fifty two, his back gave way. Vimala's elder sister trained to be a nurse and moved to Chennai, where she stayed with her uncle who was a driver for a posh family that stayed on ABM Avenue.

Hard Rock Cafe, also well known as HRC. Its a nice lounge where they play really good music and many times that music is LIVE. Yes the best bands of Delhi play there. The seating is nice, the drinks are good(but expensive , a pint of fosters is Rs230) and the food is decent but the most important thing there is the music.

Well, having 3 dogs I thought that they need to socialise with other doggies so I put one of them (my most well behaved one) into the car and went to Okhla Industrial area. Wasnt difficult to find the place, just followed the cars that had furry faces and tongues hanging out from the windows, no I am not talking about some of the girls of Delhi before their weekly visitations to the friendly parlour..I am talking about cute 4 legged creatures.

The name of the site should give a prelude to what my articles are like. I am highly opinionated about everything and I feel that I need to vent out my anger by either words or fist but vent them out nonetheless. Ill start with this article I read by some Abhishek. Have no idea who he is but after reading his opinionated article I understood that he lacks basic education and also basic logic. He was writting against the decision of Supreme court to allow homosexuality in India.
